I know timely communication is important, so I will try to respond to parents within 24 hours. Usually, it should be less...much less!
Email is preferred as it allows me to respond when time allows. Please, when emailing, use your child's name in the SUBJECT space. This identifies your email as the most important because, as you likely do, I get TONS of less urgent, important email.
Email- [email protected]
Phone- 966-8655 (This is the school main number. Leave a message with the secretary, and I will respond as quickly as I can!
VERY IMPORTANT!
This year, for the first time, I also will be using the "Remind" app to indicate MAJOR assignments (test, project, reports, essays) and lurking or looming (depending on the date!) deadlines or turn-in dates. You will be receiving information on how to sign up for these text messages, and there is a link for such on my individual class website pages. Please, NOTE, I will be using this for larger, multiple day (inside of or outside of classroom) type assignments ONLY. Smaller, more routine (overnight, short, etc.) assignments will be the responsibility of the student to write in his/her agenda. Please check these nightly to supervise the completion of these!
And, finally, please note that these text reminders are just that...reminders! Missing such messages (including me, accidentally, failing to send the message itself--I am human and not infallible as I tell the students!) does NOT eliminate the primary responsibility of your student for noting these dates in his/her agenda or notebook, managing the work with other time demands, and, finally, turning in such finished work in a timely way. And, please realize in English in particular due dates can and do change based upon reading progress in a novel, etc--these almost always end up with a net longer completion time. I will certainly try to keep you up to date, but, as always, check with your child, his/her agenda, or email me if a question arises.
